Delaware Law and Widener University School of Business Administration in collaboration offer a juris doctor/master of business administration (JD/MBA). If you’re interested in business or corporate law, this dual degree program might be exactly what you’re looking for. It allows students to simultaneously pursue graduate education in both law and business.
Interested applicants must meet the qualifications for admission set forth by both Delaware Law and the School of Business Administration.
The JD/MBA program requires credits be earned from both the Law School and School of Business Administration. The JD degree is a 90 credit program, while the MBA program is a 33 credit program. Students admitted to the dual degree program will receive up to 9 credits toward the MBA degree for qualifying coursework taken as part of the JD program, and 9 credits toward the JD degree for qualifying coursework taken as part of the MBA program, thus resulting in a total reduction of 18 credits had the two degrees been pursued separately. No credit toward the JD degree can be given for MBA courses taken prior to matriculation at Delaware Law. The JD/MBA dual degree can be completed in four years of full-time study or five years of part-time study.
