Expanding Your Experience

The Student Bar Association encourages student engagement on campus by allowing student-led organizations to independently develop their own extra-curricular activities, educational panels or forums, and service events. Any group of regular and/or extended division students  that meet the requisite minimum standards may qualify to become an official student organization. Additionally, SBA organizations often offer learning opportunities not available in the traditional classroom setting such as seminars on dressing professionally and wellness in law. SBA also partners with the Career Development Office and the Alumni Association to provide programming related to professional development beyond law school.

Serving the Community

The Student Bar Association requires its student organizations to arrange community service events throughout the year, encouraging students to develop relationships with communities around the law school. Often, students will hold food and clothing drives around the holidays and donate the proceeds to local shelters and affinity groups. Further, SBA acknowledges that there are critical needs among our own law school community and provides a variety of mental health, financial management, and other student-specific resources for students to utilize as needed.

Embracing Our Diversity

The Student Bar Association has partnered with the Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to ensure that every regular and extended division student feels they have an equal voice within our law school community. SBA believes that it is through sharing our unique experiences, we expand our abilities to respect, support, and celebrate our future colleagues in law. SBA has made a commitment to embrace the differences in culture, religion, race, and sexual orientation among our students and faculty as assets that are critical to our development as legal professionals.
