Scholarship Opportunities

Students may apply for direct financial assistance from private and public organizations. These organizations offer scholarships, grants or low-interest loans to students who meet specific criteria determined by each organization. Such donors include county and state bar associations, law spouses groups, veterans organizations, church and ethnic organizations, college or university alumni associations, and corporations with tuition programs for employees.

In order to assist our students in the pursuit of outside funding, the Delaware Law Financial Aid Office has researched and made available information on more than 100 scholarship opportunities.

Scholarships are categorized as the following:
  • Dark Blue highlighted scholarships = specific residency required.
  • Yellow highlighted scholarships are general scholarships.
  • Light Blue highlighted scholarships are specialized scholarships and awards, including diversity scholarships.

Another good source: AccessLex Law School Scholarship Databank

The Databank includes scholarships for incoming and returning law students, and even some that can be used to pay for degrees prior to a J.D., including bachelor’s and master’s degrees; or towards bar study costs.

It’s the most comprehensive list of scholarships out there that's designed specifically for law students and those interested in a law career.

Awards from these sources must be reported to the Office of Financial Aid as soon as they are secured.
